FedEx and IBM Team To Help Small Businesses Cut Costs and Improve Operations

Special Rates on FedEx Services Will Improve Speed-to-Market; IBM Products Offer Latest Technology to Improve Business Processes

ARMONK, NY & MEMPHIS, TN - 08 Nov 2001: November 8, 2001- IBM and FedEx Corp. have teamed to offer small-business customers a variety of each company's industry-leading products and services at reduced rates. The program is designed to help small businesses operate with lower costs and improved efficiency.

IBM is offering qualified FedEx account holders a discount on an assortment of its most popular software and hardware products. Conversely, IBM small-business customers can register to receive a discount on FedEx Priority Overnight®, FedEx Standard Overnight® and other U.S. domestic services. The discounts are available now at the Small Business Centers located on www.ibm.com and www.fedex.com.

"This cross-discount arrangement opens the doors on both sides," said Raymond Boggs, vice president of Small Business Research at IDC in Framingham, MA. "It's a win-win-win situation for IBM, FedEx and, most importantly, the customers."

FedEx customers can access the available discounted IBM products by going to www.fedex.com and selecting the FedEx Small Business Center, Fedex Special Offers. A link will then take them to a customized Web page at www.ibm.com. Customers may then place orders online or call a special 800 number.

IBM has placed a permanent link on its Small Business Center at www.ibm.com/smallbusiness that provides instructions on how to receive the discounted rates. The alliance offers FedEx customers special savings on hundreds of IBM products and services including:
