Without this revolutionary technology, advances in semiconductor technology would have fallen behind the timeline set forth by Moore’s Law. Dr. Ito’s invention has greatly aided the production of more powerful chips at a lower cost, and contributed substantially to the worldwide economic growth of the last 15 years.
