IBM ouvre un Centre d’Excellence Mondial dans le domaine de la santé à La Gaude

IBM annonce l’ouverture d’un nouveau Centre d’Excellence spécialisé dans la santé, situé à La Gaude en France, au sein du centre international de Solutions Métier d’IBM.

La mise en place de ce Centre d’Excellence a pour objectif d’aider les clients d’IBM à concevoir et à créer des solutions innovantes dans les domaines de la santé et des sciences de la vie. Ces solutions vont permettre d’améliorer les prestations de santé, de contribuer à prévenir les maladies et d’aider au bien être des personnes.

« Le nouveau centre de La Gaude est un élément majeur de notre stratégie mondiale » affirme Sean Hogan, Vice President IBM Global Healthcare & Life Sciences. « Nous présentons les meilleurs pratiques observées à travers le monde dans le domaine de la santé, et mettons à disposition de nos clients un environnement collaboratif pour innover et améliorer les systèmes de santé proposés aux citoyens »

Ce Centre d’Excellence, composé de spécialistes du secteur de la santé, va permettre de développer de nouvelles solutions métier dans des domaines tels que la recherche, l’analyse de données, la veille économique ou les solutions dédiées aux patients.

Ces solutions métier s’appuient sur des technologiques innovantes : RFID, télémédecine, applications mobiles, télématiques, portails de santé nationaux et régionaux. Les visiteurs pourront alors expérimenter ces solutions dans un environnement client reconstitué, ce qui les aidera à concevoir et à développer des systèmes de santé « plus intelligents ».

Expanding its global healthcare capability, the Centre of Excellence will help IBM healthcare clients to design and create healthcare and life sciences solutions that improve care delivery, predict and prevent disease and enable smarter individual health and wellness.

Specialists at the Centre will provide deep levels of industry knowledge and expertise in areas such as research, design and solutions across electronic medical and health records, healthcare analytics, business intelligence and patient-centric solutions.

From this base in the IBM Business Solutions Centre at La Gaude, the Centre of Excellence is able to draw upon the knowledge and expertise of up to 4,000 IBM healthcare IT and healthcare process experts worldwide.

The Centre will also host a range of immersive solutions showcases that illustrate healthcare scenarios. Featuring applications running in home, general practitioner clinic, hospital and emergency response centre environments, visiting clients will be able to experience real-life situations to help them visualise and jointly develop smarter systems.

Focusing on healthcare analytics, business intelligence, electronic medical and health records, identity management and unified communications, the Centre will offer experiential demonstrations; architecture consultancy; proof of concept and prototype demonstrations; integration of partner solutions; and, complex solutions design.

It will also provide prototyping across areas such as RFID, telemedicine, regional and national health portals, telematics and mobile applications.

Elsewhere in Europe, IBM drives healthcare innovation at its Zurich Research Laboratory. Researchers at Zurich successfully developed the Anatomic and Symbolic Mapper Engine (ASME), which enables doctors to navigate a 3D virtual map of the human body and access medical information graphically. ASME is currently being piloted at the Thy-Mors hospital in northern Denmark.
