IBM erhält US National Medal of Technology and Innovation

US-Präsident Obama ehrt IBM (NYSE: IBM) mit der Verleihung der US National Medal of Technology and Innovation für die Entwicklung der Blue Gene-Supercomputer-Familie. Neben der National Medal of Science ist dies die höchstmögliche Anerkennung der US-Regierung für Wissenschaftler, Ingenieure und Erfinder. Die Übergabe findet am 7. Oktober in einer Zeremonie des Weißen Hauses statt. Die National Medal of Technology and Innovation ehrt Personen oder Unternehmen für ihre herausragenden Beiträge zum Fortschritt der Technologie in den Vereinigten Staaten.

IBM Wins National Medal of Technology and Innovation
President Obama today named IBM as a recipient of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation for its invention of the Blue Gene family of supercomputers. Along with the National Medal of Science, this is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on scientists, engineers, and inventors. The recipients will receive their awards on October 7 at a White House ceremony. The National Medal of Technology and Innovation recognizes individuals or companies for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of technology for the improvement of the economic, environmental, or social well-being of the United States.
