					Recognised as one of Australia’s greatest ‘Learning Cities’, Ballarat is hosting the EXploring Interests in Technology and Engineering (E.X.I.T.E) camp from 3 – 6 November 2009. Organised by IBM, E.X.I.T.E Ballarat is a four day camp involving a range of hands-on activities in the fields of IT and Engineering and this year focuses on Indigenous youth. The camp aims to encourage greater learning of technology amongst rural Indigenous youth, and to encourage people living in rural cities like Ballarat to explore the IT industry and gain an understanding of its career potential.

					<title>IBM to connect 225,000 NSW students and teachers under smart education wireless services contract</title>

					IBM today announced it has been awarded a services contract by the New South Wales Department of Education and Training to implement wireless connectivity across 463 secondary schools under the Australian Federal Government&#39;s Digital Education Revolution initiative.

Under the contract, valued at AU$70m, IBM will roll out secure, scalable wireless connectivity at public secondary and central schools, providing more than 200,000 students and around 25,000 teachers with enhanced teaching and learning opportunities.
