In December 2009 IBM Australia and the Melbourne Institute launched the Innovation Index of Australian Industry.
The Index has now become a nationally recognised measure of innovation activity across the economy, tracking a range of indicators including R&D, IP applications, organisational, managerial and marketing change, and also productivity.
Measuring innovation intensity across 13 industries since 1990, the index provides policy makers, business leaders, investors and analysts with a unique insight into a key driver of growth and competitiveness in the Australian economy.
