Paul is VP SWG Sales, IBM Australia & New Zealand. In his current role, he is responsible for over 500 Sales, Technical Sales, Marketing and Software Services leaders and has P&L responsibility for the overall software business. Prior to this positions, Paul spent 2 ½ years working out of Shanghai as the Director of SWG Competition and Power Software. Mr. Rivot focused within IBM’s Growth Market Unit working on IBM’s Competitive Software strategy as well as Workload Optimized Systems. In addition to cross software competitive, he manages the Power Software team, partnering with IBM’s STG team.
In prior roles, Mr. Rivot has had various executive jobs as the Business Line Executive for IBM’s Database and Data Warehouse business. He’s has held various executive jobs in Product Management, Product Marketing, Competitive Technologies as well as the Sales Executive for Database, and Software.
Before joining IBM, Mr. Rivot worked for Digital Equipment as the District Software Sales and Services Manager for their Northeast Area. He received a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York, and has a Masters of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University specializing in Information Security.
