Full biography

Tony Best is the Vice-President, Operations for IBM Australia and New Zealand. In this role, he is responsible for the vitality and operational strength of IBM A/NZ within the global framework, including implementation of key strategic initiatives across all business units to ensure continued functional success in a complex business environment.

Tony has more than 28 years of experience with IBM, joining the company in 1985 as a university graduate. He has held a number of professional and management positions across sales, systems engineering, support and services.

Tony’s previous roles within IBM include; Director, Tivoli Software Asia Pacific (based in Singapore), General Manager – Public Sector IBM A/NZ and General Manager Software Group IBM A/NZ.  Immediately preceding his current appointment, he successfully oversaw several key business units as Vice-President of Commercial and Channels Business, IBM A/NZ.

Tony has been the recipient of numerous industry awards including five IBM one hundred per cent clubs, four Tivoli one hundred per cent clubs and the Tivoli Global President’s award for 1997 for outstanding sales performance and leadership.
