David Matthews is the General Manager for IBM’s Global Processing Services (GPS) in Australia and New Zealand.
Appointed to the role in 2013, David is in charge of all aspects of the business including growth, profitability, client engagement & market development. His primary responsibility is continuing GPS’ recent period of aggressive growth with strong client engagement, project delivery and sales pipeline.
Before taking on the General Manager position David was the Director, Account Management, IBM Global Process Services, and was responsible for all GPS accounts including delivery, client relationship and base growth, and worked closely with the IBM team to pursue the GPS growth objectives and the clients business objectives.
David has over 20 years’ experience across leadership roles in BPO, Delivery, Business Consulting and Shared Services across Asia Pacific. Prior to joining IBM, David led Accenture's Delivery and Account Management for BPO engagements in the ASEAN region. David has led some of the most complex BPO and Shared Services implementations, and has deep experience in solution planning, implementation and delivery of complex Shared Services and Outsourced Operations with global clients across multiple geographies. David has also held management roles in the Mining, Chemicals and FMCG industries.
David is particularly passionate about building talent within his team and his background and experience in leading the implementation of large organisational and technology change initiatives will continue to be a key focus for the future.
