Full biography

In July 2010 IBM moved the ANZ Bank into the Global Integrated Account model as result of their existing strategic relationship and the need to coordinate business across the markets into which ANZ is expanding as a “Super Regional Bank”.  Owen Rayment was appointed as Managing Director to lead this business with all related IBM regions and brands.

Previous to this (August 2008 – July 2010) Owen was IBM General Manager, Financial Services Sector, Australia/NZ. As leader of IBM's business in the Financial Services Sector Owen led the team responsible for all IBM business with major banking, insurance and financial markets clients, partnering with them to bring integrated IBM capability to their business. 

Owen graduated as a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing Major) from the University of NSW in 1985 and has spent over 20 years in the IT and related Sectors.

He held senior roles throughout the 1990s in Telstra Corporation leading Sales and Delivery for both the Public Sector division in Canberra and later the Media & Entertainment business unit based in Sydney.

Owen joined IBM Australia in 1997 and has held a variety of leadership roles across IBM Australia/NZ and Asia over the past 14 years.

He has led IBM teams working across the Asia Pacific region in IBM domains including Venture Capital Investment, Media and Telecommunications solutions and Marketing.  From 1997 to 2002 he travelled and worked extensively across the region.

From 2003-2008 he was Client Director for IBM's business with Telstra, one of IBM’s largest and most strategic Integrated Accounts. This was a critical period in the IBM business as Telstra entered into its critical enterprise transformation program. 

Owen is 48 years old, married with 3 children (aged 20, 18, 16) he is based in Melbourne.
