Full biography

Brett is the Financial Services Industry (FSS) Director for Australia New Zealand, a position held since November 2011. He is an accomplished Business Manager with more than twenty-five years IT background that encompasses multiple facets of the Information Technology industry. In 2012, Brett was responsible for the FSS business which grew 14% and established superannuation as a new business practice.

Before his current position Brett was General Manager of IBM Global Financing (IGF), managed the IBM Software Public (PS) and Financial Sector (FSS) focusing on establishing IBM Software into major banks, insurance companies, State, Education and Health marketplaces. Responsible for all aspects of the PS software business, Brett grew the business by 112% YTY growth in 2005.

2002-2003, Brett managed the A/NZ Data Management business focusing on promoting the IBM Data Management solutions DB2, Informix, Content Management and Database management tools to the market. Brett achieved 113% of plan and a 48% YTY growth in 2002. In July 2002, Brett received the Fast Forward award as most successful Sales Manager in Asia Pacific.

For the second half of 2001, Brett was assigned to run, drive and integrate Informix into the IBM Data Management Business. Brett achieved 151% of the Informix 2nd half 2001 plan and 119% of Informix’s full year target. This was the first time in four years Informix had achieved plan and fourth quarter was the largest A/NZ Informix quarter on record. Brett and the Informix sales team were awarded the Asia Pacific Hot Team 2001 award and were commended for one of the most successful business integration in IBM A/NZ history.

Before moving into the Business Unit Executive role, Brett held various management positions including Northern Region Sales Manager, Websphere and Knowledge Management Business Unit Executive. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Information Systems) from Curtin University of Technology, Perth.
