Full biography
Sara Watts was appointed Chief Financial Officer for IBM Australia and New Zealand in April 2008. In August 2009, she was named the Executive Sponsor for Corporate Responsibility for IBM in Australia and New Zealand, a role which complements the governance and ethics components of her CFO responsibilities.
Joining IBM as a university graduate in 1986, Ms Watts has a held a wide range of senior finance roles in a career spanning over 20 years. During that time, she has been involved in many aspects of business process management and finance process transformation. Previously, Ms Watts was Director, Internal Audit and Investigations, IBM Asia Pacific, a role with particular focus on identifying and recommending risk mitigation strategies across many lines of business.
Ms Watts is on the Board of IBM Australia Limited and a number of other subsidiary companies. In addition to her IBM board responsibilities, Ms Watts was recently appointed Chairman of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, a not-for-profit performing arts organisation.
Ms Watts holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Sydney, a Masters in Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
