Reduce your risks, your costs and drive competitive advantages with the IBM eServer Integrated Platform for e-business on IBM eServer iSeries™.
The Integrated Platform on iSeries delivers a blue print for an e-business infrastructure solution that leverages Linux and WebSphere Application Server allowing you to extend your OS/400 and DB2 UDB solutions to new users, customers, partners, and suppliers.
The value of the Integrated Platform is that IBM has pre-architected and tested the e-business configuration which can lead to a faster and less expensive implementation.
The Integrated Platform delivers a blue print which includes:
- a solution design
- system sizing
- hardware and software requirements
- step by step instructions
- an extensive set of installation scripts
The Integrated Platform can take a process that typically takes weeks down to days by using a pre-defined set of hardware and software components integrated and tuned based on IBM's extensive experience
in e-business.
A combination of IBM eServer iSeries servers, WebSphere Application Server, IBM DB2, with security and directory functions provide the basic e-business infrastructure you need to deploy your business solutions.
The Blue Print was developed for two iSeries configurations:
i825 that supports the OS/400 applications and the 3 Linux partitions.
i810 that supports the 3 Linux-based partitions that is connected to a second iSeries server for the OS/400 applications
The iSeries Model 825, 870, and 890 Enterprise Edition can include a one processor license and one year of support for WebSphere Application Server V5. With this option, WebSphere can be installed in Linux on iSeries to support the Integrated Platform implementation.
The iSeries Enterprise Edition also includes a Services Voucher that is valid for Integrated Platform Service Offerings.
