Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is a consortium of healthcare industry professionals and IT vendors whose goal is to improve the level of integration and degree of interoperability among IT systems serving the healthcare industry. It promotes the coordinated use of established standards such as DICOM and HL7 to address specific clinical needs in support of optimal patient care. IHE’s primary work products are profiles which focus on key use cases relevant to the healthcare domain.
IBM was an early advocate for healthcare industry standards, is actively engaged in IHE Planning and Technical Committees and participates in Connectathon and demonstration events worldwide.

The IHE Integration Statements below are prepared and published by IBM to describe the intended conformance of our products within the IHE Technical Framework. They identify the specific IHE capabilities that a given product is designed to support by Actor (a role that a given system performs) and Integration Profile (the integration function).
