Join IBM, a platinum sponsor of Cambridge Healthtech’s sixth annual Bio-IT World Conference & Expo, and join more than 1,500 of your colleagues at this premier event for life sciences IT professionals. More than 85 technology and science presentations from among five tracks will be presented.

On Tuesday, April 29 at 3:45 PM, join Michael Hehenberger, Ph.D., Solutions Executive, Life Sciences/Pharma R&D, IBM Healthcare and Life Sciences as he leads a session discussing In Silico R&D.

In Silico modeling and simulation and other predictive technologies are rapidly being applied to life sciences R&D in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and academic research organizations. In Silico research can supplement and support traditional wet lab, animal and human testing of new therapies and hold the promise of deeper understanding of disease mechanisms and drug targets, better optimization of lead compounds entering development and more effective and safer clinical trials protocols. In Silico approaches will make demands both on the processes and practices of researchers and on the technical infrastructure that supports them - they are often very compute-intensive and will be supported by a growing base of high-performance and high-density computing hardware in both commercial and academic institutions. Through these summits, IBM, our Business Partners, and our life sciences customers are working to build a community to foster the adoption of In Silico tools and methodologies to help researchers innovate faster and further.

This is the first of a series of meetings IBM is planning on In Silico R&D with future meetings being planned for the US and Japan.
