Together, with partner software solutions, IBM Printing Systems technology provides the backbone of the hybrid mail services of Deutsche Post Printcom operations. Printcom runs one of the largest hybrid mail operations in the world, printing over one billion mail pieces a year.

IBM also helped An Post, Ireland's national postal service, offer a range of services such as e-billing, digital certificates and Internet postage. The post is also attempting to extend the real world payment expertise it has to the virtual world by serving as a payments intermediary. Currently, Irish post offices across the country are said to handle 23% of in-person bill payments.
