| A real world implementation
|
When a large Indian public sector bank decided to upgrade their core banking systems, they turned to IBM and i-flex. The goal was to link their strategic branches and other channels as well as enable new services and products. As part of the transformation, IBM and i-flex provided a comprehensive IT plan, business process re-engineering, mission critical applications and integration services.
The project was launched in August 2001 and has enabled substantial business expansion.
- 150 branches have been integrated since December 2001.
- 142 ATMs have been linked since February 2002.
- Telebanking was enabled in July 2002.
- Internet banking was enabled by February 2003.
The solution also helped the bank launch new products, including a global debit card, with the bank signing up 150,000 customers in 11 weeks.
