Virtualization is a technique for hiding the physical characteristics of computing resources from the way in which other systems, applications or end users interact with those resources. Although the details can be technical and abstract, we believe virtualization can bring substantial benefits to education. This paper focuses on the applications and benefits that can be enabled by virtualization, including increased operational efficiency and lower costs.
