Courseware - Science
IBM Canada is pleased to offer the Data Harvest line of Science Probeware for all Canadian K-12 schools. The combination of a SmartQ sensor and an EasySense interface will ensure that hands-on learning occurs in your Science class. Using the power of digital technology to measure physical quantities can lead to investigations which exercise your students' higher order thinking skills!
SmartQ sensors
Over 30 different probes are available to measure and investigate aspects of the world, from abstract concepts such as conductivity, pH, or magnetic field, to exacting measurements of temperature, force, or speed. Each probe incorporates a microprocessor to ensure accurate calibration and reliability, as well as automatic identification by the interface.

EasySense interfaces
The range of EasySense interfaces permit taking measurements independently (remote data logging) or while attached to a computer (real-time monitoring). Measurements can be repeated automatically to build up a history of data and to detect trends. Capture the unseen flickering of an AC fluorescent bulb, or compare the length of daylight from week to week - by reading quickly, or very slowly. Click here to see the choices.
Sensing Science Laboratory software
Capture, display and analyze the data with the powerful Sensing Science Laboratory Software, included in all packages. With the touch of a button, experiment instruction sheets can be recalled or stored, and linked to the data collecting settings required. See your data as a table of values, as a moving meter needle, as a jumping histogram, as a numerical readout, or a live time-graph. Find averages, zoom in and out, measure slopes and areas, and much more!
