Teacher View

The Teacher's Desktop contains functions that allow teachers to manage their classes without needing to understand the underlying technology.

TLC School Connect allows the Teacher to create their own classes, manage their classes and assignments, interact with their students, and change student's passwords all from a straightforward interface.

Teachers have access to all the same items as their students and a number of additional features such as access to a shared "Teacher's Community" folder where they can share files, lesson plans and receive school administration notices.

The "Teacher's Utilities" folder can contain useful programs for teacher-specific applications. Teachers can manage classroom activities, curriculum software and web based resources from the Teacher View.

They are able to perform such actions as creating classes, with their associated students and software, automatically distribute and collect assignments and share their classes with other teachers.

Student View

The TLC SchoolConnect Student view provides a secure standard Windows desktop and a new web based interface for access to TLC SchoolConnect Lesson Plans.

The colours are an important security feature within TLC SchoolConnect. Blue was chosen to make it easy for a Teacher or Administrator to identify when a student is logged in.

Students can complete assignments and collaborate with others from the Student View. Students are able to:

• Sign on to TLC SchoolConnect with restricted access to system files
• Collaborate with peers and submit files to their teachers within the industry standard Windows interface
• Launch programs specifically assigned by their teacher
• Access applications from the universally available Desk Tools folder.
• Access TLC SchoolConnect Lesson Plans and other resources through an easy to use browser.

Office User View

The standard Windows interface will appear on the Office User desktop. This allows access to the teacher community and its folders so you may be able to participate and distribute bulletins, forms and office memos.
