“Inside India: The Indians View Their Automotive Future,” is a joint study between the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute’s Automotive Analysis Division and the IBM Institute for Business Value. The study is based on in-depth personal interviews with Indian automotive executives, Indian government officials, and other Indian automotive experts. The interviews cover a wide range of questions including the market structure, joint venture relationships, the transportation infrastructure, and other issues like air quality and oil supply. From this study, a picture emerges of the real issues and challenges for the Indian automotive industry, as perceived by India's own experts and industry leaders.
