Celeste Gonzalez Photo

During her career, Celeste Gonzalez has spent 33 years working with clients beginning as a Systems Engineer where she focused on networking, application design and IT architecture. She brings that industry experience to her EBI classroom and clients.

She is the course owner for Aligning Business and IT Strategy and has worked to update the EBI Strategic Alignment model (SAM) which is used as a basis for the course. The SAM helps executives better understand the strengths and weaknesses of business strategy, IT strategy, business organization and IT organization. The course enables executive to focus on those areas and begin creating a plan for better strategic alignment.

Ms. Gonzalez also teaches the Executive Computer Concepts class which is designed to address a broad perspective of IT technology for a non-technical executive level audience.

Other career experience includes work as a client representative for a top 10 Fortune 500 company where she helped implement the tactical and strategic information system (IS) plans.

As early as 1981, Ms. Gonzalez assisted in the start up of the IBM Global Network business unit, where clients outsourced their IT workloads to IBM. Then, as the Manager of Customer Assistance, she successfully designed and implemented call management and problem management systems for IBM's network clients.

Ms. Gonzalez has also marketed business solutions to small, medium and large companies where she jointly developed business strategies with her clients to take advantage of new and emerging technologies.

She earned a BA in Math Education with a minor in Computer Science from Kean University in 1972 and is a graduate of Seton Hall University with an MBA in Finance.
