| Job description |
 |
My role at IBM as a technical manager has many facets. The primary aspect is working with a team of 19 engineers to ensure that the hardware chips which go into our servers have the highest quality. This entails partnering with global design and peer teams to assure top-notch performance on the chips before the hardware is actually made and the servers are purchased by the customers. In addition, I have to find challenging opportunities for my team members so they are continually growing in their careers and I am building top talent. Likewise, I have to work with my manager and executives to reward outstanding team and individual accomplishments. All this requires excellent teamwork across all levels and superb communication/motivation skills. |
