Meet some of the team members who worked on the Guandong project.
Xue Qiao Hou
Xue Qiao Hou, healthcare solution manager for IBM Healthcare Solutions Lab, is the author or co-author of eight patents and six technical papers. He joined IBM China Research Lab in 2004. He and his team focus on exploring innovative IT solutions for healthcare interoperability and analytics. Hou has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in automatic control theory from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and is now pursuing a second master’s degree, majoring in investment banking at Renmin University of China.
Nanping “Lisa” Li is healthcare strategy and business development executive for IBM China public sector. She is responsible for developing strategies and programs to exploit opportunities in China’s healthcare industry. She is also a liaison with the healthcare think tank, helps communicate IBM’s smarter healthcare strategy and participates in an industry standards association to promote the adoption of open standards in healthcare. Li previously worked in governmental programs.
Yu Bo Lv
Yu Bo Lv is president of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and vice president of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. Lv focuses his efforts on development models for Chinese hospitals, including operating systems, culture, medical quality and strategic management. Lv is also vice president of the Chinese Hospital Association and vice president of the Association of Chinese Medicine. He holds a master of business administration degree from Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China.
Dr. Thomas Li is the chief technology officer of IBM Greater China Group and the director of IBM Research-China, leading two research laboratories and two joint research arms in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenyang. He has 96 patents granted worldwide, including 32 from the US in several technical areas, and publications in various conferences and journals. Dr. Li is chairman of Greater China Chapter of the Supply Chain Council, and an honorary professor and guest professor in a number of top-tier universities in China.
As the manager of the business intelligence team in the Information and Knowledge department at IBM Research-China, Dr. Feng Cao led the research in the Guangdong Hospital project. He leads the research and development work on electronic health records and common data administration (CDA) components of the Clinical and Health Records Analytics and Sharing (CHAS) system. He and his team focus on healthcare solutions, especially semantic web and data management applications in hospital, community care and home care. Dr. Cao received his PhD from Fudan University in Shanghai in 2006. He also holds a BE degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, and an ME degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan.
