Germany headquarters

IBM's roots in Germany go back to 1910, and no one back then could have anticipated the company's evolution and growth in the century to follow. By 1967, IBM Germany needed to replace its existing head office in Sindelfingen, and the company announced plans that year to build a new facility in Stuttgart. Construction was underway in 1968 on a 25-acre site south of the city, and in 1970, the last building on the site was "topped out." Two years later, the facility was completed and IBM Germany moved its headquarters from Sindelfingen to this office complex in Stuttgart. (VV8007)
