| The IBM 523 gang summary punch made its debut on February 17, 1949. When attached to an IBM 400-series accounting machine, the 523 punched summary cards for various totals at the rate of 100 cards a minute. Gang punching and summary punching operations could be performed simultaneously. The last model of the 523 was withdrawn from marketing on December 1, 1975. (VV4012) |
