Relational database

Relational database

The relational database concept of filing, modifying and retrieving computer information was originated by IBM and has been implemented and tested by IBM researchers since 1970. Information in the computer is arranged in easy-to-interpret tables. The method minimizes the need for computer experience, as users can merely specify what they wish to do, without having to instruct the computer on how to do it. The method was implemented in the IBM Database 2 and SQL/DS software products. (VV3151)
