Chip testing

By 1981, more than 50 computer-controlled systems designed by IBM were quality-testing thousands of different circuit parts on IBM production lines. In less than a minute, this device could test a silicon wafer that had more than 100 complex logic or memory chips containing thousands of transistors. (VV3132)
