Thomas J. Watson, Sr., speaking

In January 1916, Thomas J. Watson, Sr., speaks in Endicott, N.Y.

In January 1916, Thomas J. Watson, Sr., speaks in Endicott, N.Y. to a sales convention of the International Time Recording Company (one of the three main entities comprising the future IBM). His theme (seen on the flip chart to his right) this day is "Men. Minutes. Money." He says, "We should always remember that men utilize minutes to make money. That is the vital relationship prevailing among these elements of business. ... We should not forget the value of our own time. We should always see that we get the most out of it. Make time your ally and time will make you." (VV2094)
