The System/7 could run unattended in process environments similar to the one shown here. Many remotely located sensing devices could be attached to the low-cost system, which used the data received for continuous process control in the manufacture of petroleum and chemical products, paper, glass, rubber, metals and textiles. An optional air isolation feature permitted the device to operate in environments containing corrosive gases and heavy dust.
