| In the privacy of the voting booth,
the IBM Votomatic was used to register selections
on a specially designed punched card ballot. The
voting device weighed approximately six pounds and
sold for $185 in 1965. The Votomatic's low cost
meant that enough units could be placed in each
polling place to reduce waiting time. |
