Micro-Processing System process

This is the step-by-step process in the handling of documents using IBM's Micro-Processing units. Original documents (1) such as design drawings, land titles, police records and chemical abstracts are photographed (2) and reproduced in miniature on microfilm. The image is copied (3) from the microfilm to film mounted in aperture cards which can be handled by data processing equipment. The IBM Micro-Copier I (4) takes about 15 seconds to reproduce a copy card from this master card. The IBM Micro-Copier II will reproduce either the image of a card or an image directly from a microfilm roll. The image on the copy card (5) is viewed (6) in the portable IBM Micro-Viewer.
