The IBM 1403 printer Model 2 could be used with
IBM's System/360, System/370 and System/3 Model
10 computers. The 1403 Model 7 was used with the
System/360 and System/370.
Advanced concept of printing and improved paperhandling
facilities featured in this printer resulted in
the fast, efficient preparation of reports, records
and operating documents. All data to be printed,
printing format and operations were controlled
by the stored program in the system's processing
unit.
The maximum printing speed of the 1403 was 600 alphanumeric lines per minute (print speeds on the Model 2 could be increased to 750 lines per minute with the optional Universal Character Set feature). The Model 2 had 132 print positions and the Model 7 had 120; each position printed 48 characters, including 12 special ones. |
