| The IBM 3490E Magnetic Tape Subsystem
Enhanced Capability rack-mounted Model F11 was announced
in February 1997. It achieved a sustained data transfer
rate of 3MB a second (up to 6.8MB with Improved
Data Recording Capability enabled) and its integrated
autoloader allowed up to 8GB (24GB compressed) of
magnetic tape storage in two cubic feet of space. |
