IBM 3350 direct access storage

IBM 3350 direct access storage

Shown here in design models, the IBM 3350 ("Madrid") Direct Access Storage was announced in 1975. Data recording media and mechanisms were built into the drive. The fixed media technology featured greater recording densities and could result in lower storage costs for IBM users with large storage or high performance requirements. It had a maximum storage capacity of approximately 635MB per unit.
