| IBM engineer Joseph Sheredy examines
a head assembly used in the IBM 1311 Disk Storage
Drive. Ten heads in each 1311 were used to seek,
read and write information on six magnetic disks.
The six disks comprised a removable disk pack which
could hold nearly three million characters of information.
Up to five 1311 drives could be attached to an IBM
1440 Data Processing System. |
