Gemini computer

Pictured in March 1965, IBM engineers check out a model of the 59-pound computer that will orbit in a Gemini two-man spacecraft. Built at IBM's Space Guidance Center in Owego, N.Y., the computer was designed to help Gemini crews steer their craft through intricate space maneuvers. The pushbutton and display devices were mounted on the Gemini copilot's instrument panel. Using the push buttons, he entered new navigation data into the computer or commanded the computer to display flight information.
