The IBM Personal Computer became an individualized word processing center with the addition of its optional printer and text management software.
 
The IBM Personal Computer became an individualized word processing center with the addition of its optional printer and text management software. It stored letters, manuscripts and other text for on-screen editing and rapid reproduction on the printer. The system could also be used for accounting, mathematical and home entertainment applications. Prices in 1981 ranged from $1,565 to approximately $6,300.
