| Shown here is NORC's control console. Switches
could be used to start and stop the machine and to modify
the written program. In normal operation, NORC proceeded
automatically -- without control by the operator -- according
to instructions recorded on magnetic tape. Any number
or instruction in NORC could be shown on the faces of
cathode ray tubes (seen at left). Selected portions of
the program could also be examined in slow motion through
that display. |
