The Model 155 of 1970 was a high performance data processing system that provided the reliability, availability and convenience demanded by business and scientific users, as well as customers with applications in communications or control. This "white room" design model shows (from left) a bank of IBM 3420 Magnetic Tape Units and single IBM 3803 Tape Control, 2540 Card Read Punch (foreground), 3210 Console Printer-Keyboard (background, with operator standing), two 1403 N-1 Printers (foreground center and right), 3211 Printer (middle), 3155 Central Processing Unit (background middle, with operator seated), and IBM 2314 Direct Access Storage Facility (at right with operator walking).
