Jacques G. Maisonrouge

Jacques Maisonrouge served as chairman and chief executive officer of the IBM World Trade Europe/Middle East/Africa Corporation and later as chairman of the board, IBM World Trade Corporation.

The following is the text of an IBM biography published in February 1985.

Jacques G. Maisonrouge is a member of the IBM Advisory Board and of the board of IBM World Trade Europe/Middle East/Africa Corporation.

Mr. Maisonrouge joined IBM France in June 1948. He was appointed assistant to the sales manager of IBM France in January 1954.

In June 1956, Mr. Maisonrouge joined IBM Europe as manager of market planning and research and early in 1958 became a regional manager, responsible for IBM business in ten countries in Europe. He was promoted to assistant general manager for Europe in June 1959.

In November 1962, he was elected vice president of IBM World Trade Corporation, and was located in New York until July 1964, when he was elected president of IBM Europe. He was elected president, IBM World Trade Corporation and vice president, IBM Corporation, in October 1967. He was named an IBM senior vice president in September 1972. Mr. Maisonrouge was appointed chief executive officer of the IBM World Trade Corporation on January 1, 1973. He became chairman and chief executive officer of the IBM World Trade Europe/Middle East/Africa Corporation in April 1974.

He was elected chairman of the board, IBM World Trade Corporation, in December 1976. He was appointed to become a member of the IBM Corporate Office and of the IBM Corporate Management Committee in December 1981. He was named a member of the Corporate Management Board and the Business Operations Committee in March 1983. He was elected to the IBM board of directors in June 1983. Mr. Maisonrouge retired from IBM on September 28, 1984 and became a member of the IBM Advisory Board.

On October 1, 1984, Mr. Maisonrouge was elected vice chairman, Liquid Air Corporation.

Mr. Maisonrouge is a graduate engineer from France's Ecole Centrale de Paris.

He is a director of l'Air Liquide, a member of the supervisory board of Moet-Hennessy, director of Philip Morris Incorporated, chairman of the board of trustees of the Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures of Paris and chairman of the American Hospital of Paris Foundation.

Mr. Maisonrouge is Officer of the French Order of the Legion of Honor, Commander of the Order of Merit, Commander of the Order of the Academic Palms, and Officer of Arts and Letters. He is also Fellow of the International Academy of Management.
