(IBM) Tractor Tape Cartridge
Tractor, an automatic computer tape storage system developed by IBM for the U.S. National Security Agency, was designed to attach to an enhanced IBM Stretch computer. Delivered in 1962, Tractor could store the equivalent of 88 billion characters in 160 cartridges. Its read/write speed of 1.4 million characters per second was the fastest achieved for magnetic tape during the 1960s.
