IBM announces the installation of Europe’s most powerful seismic supercomputer at Compagnie Génerale Géophysique (CGG), one of the world’s leaders in geophysical services. CGG will use the dual-core IBM BladeCenter JS21 to boost its worldwide computing capacity to a maximum of 113 teraflops and respond to the growing demand in the global petroleum industry. The new system is being deployed at CGG’s sites in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia; Massy, France; London, England; and Houston, Texas, United States.
