Wayne A. Rustin is IBM's Director of Global Equal Opportunity, Marketplace and Workforce Diversity Delivery responsible for global workforce diversity initiatives and programs.
In his current capacity, he spearheads the group that is responsible for IBM's auditing, compliance and monitoring efforts with regard to federal and local country employment legislation and other state and local regulations. He works closely with IBM senior management on developing strategies and implementing policies to address the changing landscape of employment equity legislation in the U.S. and in the more than 170 other countries where IBM does business.
Mr. Rustin joined IBM in 2006. Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Rustin had a 17-year career with J.C. Penney in positions of increasing responsibility including Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Government Relations; Vice President, Associate General Counsel Labor of Employment Counseling; Vice President of Human Resources Business Partner Catalog, Direct and Logistics.
Mr. Rustin is a former Municipal Court Judge for the City of Fort Worth, Texas and a former adjunct professor at the University of Dallas, MBA School of Management. He began his career as a labor attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in Forth Worth, Texas.
Mr. Rustin is a former Board member of the Dallas, Texas Urban League and New Beginnings and is currently a member of the District of Columbia Bar and Texas Bar.
Mr. Rustin has a B.S. in Political Science from Virginia State College; J.D. from Howard University School of Law and an L.L.M. in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University.
Mr. Rustin is married and has two children.
