The IBM Summit Program is designed to provide the proper integration into IBM sales roles. Client Representative

Position description:

Provides a single point of contact to all of IBM's sales and technical resources for an IBM customer. Leads the strategy and development of the overall account plan and has primary responsibility for identifying opportunities and developing client-valued solutions involving multiple IBM products. Understands the client's organization and culture. Develops and executes a relationship plan to address both IT and line-of-business organizations, leveraging other subject matter experts, executives, and thought-leaders as needed to provide value to the client. Maintains a thorough understanding of the client's industry, including trends, financial measurements and performance indicators, business processes, and key client competitors.

Information Technology Architect

Position description:

Defines solutions and architectures to address client business requirements and technical needs. Works in levels of abstraction, applying industry knowledge and leveraging appropriate technology information. Develops, tests, and presents client solutions, which may involve various technologies, services, and architectural styles and domains. Works in Dallas, TX, for the first 9 months and then is relocated to a permanent work location following the training period to consult with clients of all sizes. Leverages technical expertise to assist sales counterparts in maintaining client satisfaction and attaining revenue.

Information Technology Specialist

Position description:

Establishes relationships with clients and assists Client Representatives and Product Specialists in developing IBM client solutions. Has responsibility for the technical elements of a solution's design, content, construction, and integration into the client's environment. Provides valued IBM solutions by responding to the client's business requirements through innovative integration of hardware, software, and services. Articulates and demonstrates the benefits of IBM products, solutions and/or services based on the client's technical environment and needs. Responsible for maintaining client satisfaction and providing technical expertise in a particular IBM software or hardware product line.

Global Technology Services (GTS) is IBM's consulting organization. The Cloud Services Product Specialist develops business opportunities, manages relationships with clients, and provides value to them by specializing in IBM Cloud computing solutions that solve their business problems. Product Specialists are assigned to specific opportunities/territories and are responsible for closing sales and maximizing customer satisfaction. Product Specialists provide leadership and set the overall strategy for their particular product or product line by supporting the strategies of the Client Representative and coordinating other technical resources for successful product sales efforts and implementation projects.

The ideal candidate will have skills to lead sales initiatives and to close business deals. Must demonstrate ability to team, communicate effectively, have some sales and services work experience, and think logically while dealing with ambiguity.

The positions are located in major U.S. cities and will start June, 2014. The training program includes 6 months consultative sales training and product education, as well as 3 to 6 months of training in a specific services territory. Position description:

Global Technology Services (GTS) is IBM's consulting organization, whose IT Specialists identify and develop sales opportunities, which grow into client engagements. The GTS IT Consulting Specialist is a sales role requiring a significant amount of travel time to client sites for solution development and delivery with a team of IBM consultants and specialists. Key activities include interviewing clients in the discovery phase of an engagement, learning about and documenting the client's business operations, and analyzing discovered data to determine conclusions which support a client's engagement goals. These goals most often include presenting an IBM consulting services solution recommendation to C-level client executives and their teams.

The ideal candidate will have an IT background and a desire to work on the most challenging issues faced by our clients. Must demonstrate ability to team, communicate effectively, and think logically while dealing with ambiguity. The training program includes 6 months consultative sales training and product education, as well as 3 to 6 months of training in a specific services speciality. Upon receiving territory assignment, the candidate must be willing to travel up to 75%.

Global Technology Services (GTS) is IBM's consulting organization. The Strategic Services Sales role is customer facing, and consultative sales position. The Strategic Services representative drives the sale of IBM Services opportunities with clients through the orchestration of software and services Sales Specialists, as well as other IBM resources. The Strategic Services representative executes the IBM strategy of working with customer senior executives to understand their business strategy and how IBM consulting services can assist them in meeting their business goals through the implementation of technology products and services.

The ideal candidate will have skills to lead sales initiatives and to close business deals. Must demonstrate ability to team, communicate effectively, have some sales and services work experience, and think logically while dealing with ambiguity.

Position description:

Global Technology Services (GTS) is IBM's consulting organization. The Territory Services Leader (TSL) is a customer facing, services sales, and business development position, which makes presentations to executive, line management, and staff level clients, works collaboratively with solution development teams, and possesses an understanding of IBM services and products.

After an intense 6-month training period, a new TSL builds and maintains business relationships with key clients and generates significant contract signings and highly profitable Technical Support Services revenue growth. The TSL's primary objective is to identify new business opportunities and sell solutions which address the assigned client's business needs and value expectations.

Yes. Summit participants are encouraged to shadow and observe experienced sellers whenever their training schedule permits.

What is the role of the first-line manager?
