Targeted internship programs

  • - Extreme Blue

    Location: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, India, China

    Extreme Blue is project based internship program for technical and business interns to work together on emerging business initiatives that address both IBM's strategic growth requirements and key business challenges of IBM's client across key IBM facilities in North America, Europe, India, and China. Founded in 1999, it has enjoyed tremendous success and recognition from the industry and universities alike.

  • - Foundation - Industrial Placement Scheme

    Location: UK

    IBM's Industrial Placement Scheme in UK is a one year training development program where you have the opportunity to design and deliver innovative solutions to solve some of our client's most interesting problems without having completed your degree.

  • - Employment Pathways for Interns and Co-Ops (EPIC)

    Location: USA

    The EPIC program at IBM is designed to help build your skills, and familiarize you with IBM's organization and work style. The program offers a competitive salary, flexible work schedule, structured training and development programs, the opportunity to become a member of the Future Blue student community and participate in various career development and social events.

    The IBM EPIC work experience will provide you with a competitive edge when you enter the workforce as a new graduate, and immerse you in a highly innovative environment filled with some of the brightest and smartest people in the world.

  • - IBM China Blue Pathway Internship Program

    Location: China

    The Blue Pathway summer internship program is an excellent way to develop an understanding of both IBM and our business units in China. The program is available to university students (undergraduate or graduate) in the summer before their final year of study. We offer a variety of internship positions, which may include: business consultant, finance, sales, software, hardware development and human resources. You will be equipped with the skills to succeed through mentoring, workshops, e-learning, and group activities. As an intern you will get the opportunity to be involved in on-going projects and work alongside with the top people in our industry. IBM China Blue Pathways allows you to understand IBM as a potential employer and increase your competitive advantage for future placement!

  • - IBM Summit Internship Program

    Location: USA

    The Sales & Distribution (S&D) Summit Internship Program is an elite intern program focused on attracting current MBA, MS and BS students for client-facing consultative sales, information technology and architect internships in the USA. An integral component of the overall S&D Summit Program, these internships offer unique development opportunities for students with a passion for sales who are planning for a career in sales or technical sales upon graduation. These summer internships are available June through August in various major cities nationwide.

Special entry-level programs

  • - Consulting by Degrees

    Location: North America, Europe, India, China, ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand

    Consulting by Degrees is IBM's Leadership and Development Program for Entry-level consultants. Consultants participate in the program over a 2-3 year timeframe, divided into four 6-month quadrants, each with specific development objectives including formal classroom and online education, on-the-job training, and informal education sessions.

    Once hired, you'll join our local IBM office community, where you'll be part of a challenging and collaborative work environment while gaining access to some of the brightest minds in the business. You'll have the opportunity to work on globally integrated teams delivering solutions for FORTUNE 1000 companies and government agencies.

  • - IBM Sales & Distribution Summit for Brand Sales

    Location: USA

    The IBM Sales & Distribution (S&D) Summit Program is an elite program focused on attracting recent MBA, MS and BS graduates for client-facing consultative sales, information technology specialist and architect positions in the USA. Candidates hired in July and spend six, nine, or twelve months in the Summit Program, depending on the new hire's role.


  • - International Student Hiring program

    Location: Global

    This program assists students studying outside their home countries, to find IBM opportunities in their home countries or other global markets and launch an exciting career in Consulting, Software Development, Sales, Finance , Human Resources, Marketing – to name just a few. MBA leadership development programs

  • - Lead Africa with IBM

    Location: Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Tunisia, Morocco, South Africa

    LEADAfrica with IBM is for high-potential, recently qualified or experienced graduates, pursuing leadership roles in Africa. This six-month program has been designed to provide accelerated career development in multiple functions (sales, consulting and finance) using an innovative approach that blends hands-on work experience with industry leading certification classes for IBM sales and services professionals.

  • - General Manager Leadership Development Program

    Location: USA

    The IBM General Manager Leadership Development Program offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and excel while working with the best and brightest in business today. In less than five years, you will rotate through assignments in the following areas designed to accelerate advancement to key leadership positions:

    • Consulting
    • Business Development & Sales
    • Corporate Function

    Each rotation is 18 months in duration, with at least one that will be international. The program culminates in placement as a key leader with profit and loss responsibility, most likely in a growth market. We focus our recruiting efforts at top MBA programs with a very selective candidate base hired annually. Each candidate has unprecedented exposure to IBM's senior leadership along with individual mentors at the general manager level. We're looking for candidates who are ready to be leaders throughout a career at IBM.
