Since IBM is such a large corporation (386,000+ employees in more than 170 countries), how do you stay connected with other IBM employees?
As a leader in innovation, IBM believes it's extremely important to maintain a strong collaborative environment, which is why we have access to a wide array of collaboration tools which help us stay in touch with our colleagues, regardless of their work location. Some of these tools include: e-mail, instant messaging, e-meetings, online team rooms, virtual events, internal Facebook-like Websites and an internal employee Website that delivers personalized news and events right to our desktops.
Collaboration opportunities continue outside of the office too. The IBM Club brings IBMers and retirees, as well as their families, together outside of work to participate in activities that are social, cultural or recreational — and we can work together in our communities through IBM's global volunteer program, called On Demand Community.
IBM also believes it's important to help new hires understand the company, feel a sense of belonging and become productive as quickly as possible. New hires are assigned a "Connections Coach" (an experienced employee who provides guidance during the first 60 days and ensures a smoother transition within IBM), and access to a new hire network to help them make contact with other new IBMers through social events and professional development seminars.
How can I find out what types of jobs IBM is currently hiring for?
