I lead a team of sales and pre-sales technical professionals in the North American West, who bring Application Infrastructure, Connectivity and Business Process Management solutions to our clients.

2. Why did you choose to work at IBM over other companies?

I initially chose to work at IBM when I was a college intern for the company because the experience provided me with relevant career skills. Afterward I remained because of the great career and earnings opportunities.

3. Anything you learned about IBM that you didn't know before working here?

Although it is something I'd heard about, I didn't realize how truly dedicated the company is to its corporate values. This is definitely a company of high integrity.

1. Briefly, what are the main responsibilities of your current IBM position?

As Regional Brand Leader, I help my team exceed revenue targets for IBM Information Management Software sales. I'm also responsible for overall sales leadership, strategy and operations for the Information Management Brand Sales teams in the Eastern United States.

2. Why did you choose to work at IBM over other companies?

I started with IBM immediately after I received an MBA. I knew it was a great company with a great reputation, but I planned to only stay for two years and have it on my resume because I did not think that the corporate culture of "Big Blue" would suit me. I was fortunate to be a part of the IBM College Hire program, and then have a terrific manager who showed me that IBM could be fun, challenging and diverse. The personal responsibility and work ethic of the individuals at IBM is amazing, and has helped keep me here over the years. I have learned, developed and been continually challenged with new opportunities.

3. Anything you learned about IBM that you didn't know before working here?

Tons! I've learned about technology, business and presentation skills, as well as leadership capabilities. IBM has always been focused on training and education. The opportunities to learn and develop are practically unlimited.

Lucia, IBM Software Group Manager

1. Briefly, what are the main responsibilities of your current IBM position?

In March 2010, I took over the position of IBM Software Group Manager for the Czech Republic. In this position, I am responsible for the management of IBM's software business in the Czech Republic overall, which includes the management of sales, technical presales and the Software Group service team.

As IBM calls it, the Czech Republic is one of several key "Growth Countries," and as such, the main focus of our team is to grow license revenue, gain market share and ensure customer satisfaction with our products and services.

2. Why did you choose to work at IBM over other companies?

While studying at the Economic University in Slovakia I became involved, and interested, in various IBM business cases. What really interested me as a result of my studies was how the company was able to transform itself, and keep its position as a market leader for such a long time.

Now, having been at IBM for 11 years, and holding many different positions, I have to say that continual change is one of the key factors of IBM's success. Today, this is more important than ever before, mainly due the fact that we not only have to be prepared quicker but also be highly innovative in creating solutions that help customers solve their problems, and grow.

3. Anything you learned about IBM that you didn't know before working here?

I learned that networking is very important to being successful within the company. Connection and communication with people in different positions, with different experiences, can help you in many situations, both internal and external, and career development.
