2. Why did you choose to work at IBM over other companies?

I joined IBM right after I graduated from Fu Dan University. At that time I had three offers from other companies and, mainly, there are three reasons I chose IBM:

  1. IBM is the IT company with most advanced skills in the world, doing incredible things such as analytics or super computing. I am happy to see these things from the inside.
  2. IBM has a great reputation for professional development, especially for project managers and senior leaders.
  3. I attended the career fair in my university where some IBMers talked about their career at IBM. The way they answered the questions and shared their experience really showed their professionalism.

3. What did you learn about IBM that you didn't know before working here?

At IBM, no matter what challenge you face, if you ask, colleagues from around the world are always willing to help. This is also true when it comes to career growth or development as you can have one or more mentors to guide you through the process. It has also been impressive to see first hand that IBM does not only show excellence in business but also in other important areas such Diversity or Citizenship. Some time ago I had the chance to join IBM's Corporate Service Corps to work as a volunteer in the Philippines, helping improve the knowledge management system of local government. That was the experience of a lifetime, both professionally and personally.
