IBM introduces college grads to consulting
Earlier this year, after a challenging selection process, IBM MENA (Middle East North Africa) chose the newest group of college graduates to participate in its Global Business Services (GBS) graduate program in Dubai. Individuals selected represented a broad spectrum of disciplines from engineering to marketing, and everything in between.
Participants in the Dubai program not only learned about IBM internal workings and lines of business, but were given hands-on training in a variety of business consulting skills including client relations and presentations. Through various projects, the new team got the opportunity to better understand IBM's entire bid management lifecycle as well as the rigors of a consulting career at the company.
Students in the group noted that the program made a big difference in their perception of IBM as well as career paths and professional growth opportunities offered by the company. Here are their personal comments.

"The most significant task was my involvement in the development of a proposal for Etihad Airways. Our team was responsible for conducting a competitive analysis of the Etihad Website against 15 top competitors, and identifying a set of 'quick wins' based on our results."
